NCC ADC meets CM Biren, Edu minister

Additional Director General (ADG), NCC North East Region major general Bhaskar Kalita met CM N Biren and discussed various NCC related issues on Friday as part of his three day state visit.
According to PIB Defence, the ADG informed the chief minister that the Manipur NCC cadets have been winning in all NCC competitions in the North East Region and he feels extremely delighted on their conduct and performance.
The chief minister asked the ADG to consider release of more NCC vacancies for Manipur, especially for the border area districts to which the ADG assured that the NCC Group Imphal will coordinate the matter with the state's Education Department, including posting of sufficient civilian staff to NCC, and requested the chief minister to continue his support for NCC in the State.
The ADG also took the op portunity to present the chief minister with a NCC Memento, and the NCC Alumni Association membership card to the CM, who is an ex-NCC cadet of Manipur NCC.
Later, major general Bhaskar Kalita met education minister Th Basanta Kumar and discussed important NCC related issues, especially inclusion of NCC as an Elective subject in colleges, border area expansion, and posting of adequate civilian staff, etc.
The education minister complimented the ADG for the excellent spirit and motivation of the NCC cadets which he personally witnessed during the recently conducted INA Martyrs' memorial campaign at Moirang from August 12 to 15.He assured the ADG additional support to the NCC and requested him to take up case for release of additional vacancies for Manipur NCC, and also focus on personality development of the NCC Cadets.
While addressing the NCC staff and cadets at the group headquarters, the ADG expressed his happiness with the performance of the NCC cadets of Manipur, who have won three North East Region NCC Inter Group competitions in the past three months.
He then impressed upon the cadets that they have immense potential and encouraged the cadets to win the Best Cadet Competition during the Republic Day Parade in January, 2023 .
