Apunba Khorirolgee Malemgee Lup celebrates foundation day

Apunba Khorirolgee Malemgee Lup celebrated its 3rd Foundation Day at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen in Palace Compound, Imphal today.
The event was graced by dignitaries, including Ningthemcha Sana Yaima, former chairman of UNLF; Waikhom Amuchou Meitei, president, Apunba Khorirolgee Malemgee Lup; critic & writer Prof Saratchandra Longjomba; Budha Chingtham, Member, Board of Governor, EZCC, Kolkata, Ministry of Culture, Government of India; Ph Gunachandra, lifetime president, Manipur Shumang Leela Council; Kh Khamba Singh, former Chief Engineer (Power); Nameirakpam Chingkhei, former Pradhan, Thongju Part-2; and social activist RK Nongdrenkhomba.
Speaking as the chief guest, Ningthemcha Sana Yaima extended best wishes to Apunba Khorirolgee Malemgee Lup on the occasion of its third foundation day.
Expressing concern over the prevailing situation in the State, he called for collective effort to tackle the issue of illegal immigration from Myanmar and those threatening the integrity of Manipur in order to bring lost lasting peace in the State.
He asserted that Manipur is in a crucial juncture with people still apprehensive about their future and the possibility for restoration of peace & normalcy.
"However, there is still no unity among the people even during this difficult time", he lamented.
Furthermore, Ningthemcha Sana Yaima appealed to the writers and those who are into this field to come up with literature pieces which will encourage and instill a sense of patriotism among the people.
As part of the programme, Salam Helena presented an abstract solo expression titled "Puya gi Khudol", directed by Budha Chingtham and written by Waikhom Amuchou Meitei.
The abstract solo expression was produced by Palem Panthou Cultural Trust (PPCT) .
"Nungsibagi Sambal", a shumang leela by Samadon Artiste Association was also showcased.
Felicitation of media persons and recitation of poems were the other highlights of the event.
