Bank pensioners in Manipur staged protest on Thursday, pressing various long-pending demands including the revision of pensions stagnant for three decades and parity with central government pensioners.

He informed that the demands include revision of pensions, which have remained unchanged for the past 30 years, special allowance in their pension basic pay and for the family pension of bank retirees to be made on par with that of central government pensioners.
He then said that while letters have been submitted to the Finance minister regarding the matter, no response has been provided till date.
As a follow-up to Thursday's agitation, a joint meeting would soon be held in Delhi, he informed.
The pensioners held placards inscribed with the slogans We demand uniform formula of all pensioners", "We demand insurance scheme for retirees", "We demand pension of bank retirees in the line of RBI-central government pension scheme", and "We demand improvement of medical insurance scheme and payment of premium by the bank" .
