KCP duo netted with mobile phones; arms recovered

Imphal, April 30 2025:
Security forces arrested two active members of the banned KCP and recovered a huge cache of weapons in different search operations.
According to a press note from Manipur Police Control Room, police arrested an active member of KCP (Noyon) identified as Yumkhaibam Ronaldo Meitei (23) of Khurai Ningthoubung Leikai Maning Leirak, from near Sekmai Bazar Forest Office gate on Tuesday.
The team recovered one mobile phone from the possession of the arrestee, allegedly involved in extortion activities.
Another police team arrested an active member of KCP (PWG) identified as Khomdram Ranjita Devi alias Ichan (28) Kwasiphai Mayai Leikai, from Kwasiphai under Bishnupur PS on Tuesday.
She was also reportedly involved in extorting money from businesses and the public in Thoubal area.
Police recovered one mobile phone from her possession.
Meanwhile, security forces conducted search operation near Nachou Patton and Ningthoukhong Patton Mamang on Tuesday during an abandoned hut in Nachou Patangkhong area suspected to be a hideout of the banned KCP (PWG) was busted.
The security team recovered one SLR rifle with magazine, one 9mm pistol (country made) with magazine, four No.36 HE hand grenades with arming ring, two detonators, two lathode bombs, one 81mm mortar shell, two smoke shells, two straw mattresses, a rubber tube, 11 blankets, one pillow cover, one plastic water tank (supreme), 17 fishing net 17, one track pant and one bed sheet.
On the other hand, security forces conducted search operation in Phaileng village area under Gamnom Saparmeina PS leading to recovery of two SLRs with same number magazines, one 9mm carbine machine gun with magazine, and a local made gun.
Another operation conducted along the Chingkhei Ching range under Porompat PS led to the recovery of three 12 bore single barrel guns, one .303 sniper rifle, a 9mm pistol with magazine, two No.36 hand grenades with arming ring, 10 rounds of 7.62x39mm, five tear smoke shells (normal), one pistol holster, two helmets, for BP plates and two sacks.
In yet another search operation at Hiyanglam Mayai Leikai under Hiyanglam PS, one AK-56 with magazine, one INSAS with magazine, one 9mm country made pistol with magazine, one short double barrel gun, five rounds of 9mm, nine rounds of .56mm, four No 36 HE grenades, two tear smoke grenades, two tube-launchers, two arming rings, two Tear Smoke Shells (Soft Nose) and 15 AK casings were recovered.
In a search operation in Kadang-band and Kangchup Chingkhong areas under Lamsang PS security forces recovered one rifle, one single barrel gun, one 7.SLR with magazine, one defective .303 rifle, one modified .303 rifle with magazine, one .22 rifle with magazine, one defective pistol and magazine, one pistol with magazine, four rounds of .303, two No.36 HE grenades, two stun grenades, two tear smoke shells (chilli), five BPs, ten BP plates, three helmets, one camouflage pant and two shirts with two caps.
Another search operation carried out in Yairipok Singa area under Yairipok PS led to the recovery of one .32 Pistol with magazine and three rounds, two.303 LMG magazines and two INSAS magazines.
Security forces also conducted search operation in Kwakta Ward No.4 under Phougakchao Ikhai PS and recovered one 7.65 mm round, three 12 bore casings and two misfired rounds and one rifle sling.
