Chandel Police conducts painting/drawing competition

Kakching, September 28 2024: Chandel District Police under the supervision of Chandel SP Shivanand Surve conducted a district level painting/drawing competition for school students studying in Class III to VIII on the topic 'Garbage Free India' on the eve of launching 'Swatchhata Hi Seva' at Japhou Upper Primary School, Japhou, Chandel district on Saturday.

Around 85 students from various schools located in Chandel district headquarter participated in the competition which as conducted in two categories i.e., Category-A for classes III to V and Category-B for classes-VI to VIII .

In the Category-A, SS Lucy of Khungpham Junior High School, Mantri Pantha won the first position; Etthrasha Wanglar of Japhou Upper Primary School, Japhou secured the second position and DB Grace of St Joseph's High School, Chandel got the third positionr while consolation prizes were given to five students.

In Category-B, Thachahring Rangang of Oak Hills Academy, Chandel; Vandowllihring Tongsin of Koinonia Training School, Chandel and Isabel Chahongnao of Japhou Upper Primary School, Japhou were awarded first, second and third position respectively, while three students received consolation prizes.

The award carried cash prizes of Rs 3000, Rs 2000, Rs 1000 and Rs 500 each for the first, second, third and consolation prizes along with certificates respectively for each category.

Speaking at the occasion, Chandel SP Shivanand Surve congratulated all participants and the winners for their wonderful painting and drawing and advised them to always remember the topic of the competition 'Garbage Free India' and maintain cleanliness wherever they are to keep environment clean and stay healthy always.

He also revealed that Chandel District Police will be conducting more events under Students Police Cadets Programme for the benefit of students in the district as well as to mike them aware how the police function at the police station level and others as well.

The programme was also attended by Chandel additional SP (Ops) TS Chamna Anal, Chandel SDPO Md Jaheruddin, Chandel police station OC inspector Sanjoy Kha Nganba and RO to SP, Chandel Inspector Samson Ngoruh.
