Kakching, June 27 2021:
While urging the people not to hesitate from getting the Covid-19 vaccine owing to the news report about deaths in USA connected to vaccination, Hiyanglam AC MLA Dr Radheshyam Yumnam has exhorted the people to get their Covid vaccination so as to contain the spread of Covid 3rd wave, if any, in the state.
Speaking during inspection of mass vaccination programmes held at Hiyanglam Waikhom Leikai, Warakhong and mass testing at Tera Pishak on Saturday, Rasheshyam explained that Covid vaccine used in USA is different from the vaccines in India.
Moreover, as the news report is from other sources and filed in international news section, the authenticity of the said news could not be verified as of now.
The government is also looking into the matter, he added.
Claiming that there is no official report of fatality caused by the vaccine used in India, the MLA urged the people not to hesitate from inoculating themselves based on unfounded news.
The MLA said that his aim is to administer first dose of Covid vaccine to every individual who is above 18 years of age in Hiyanglam A/C within the end of July.
In all, 160 people were administered Covid vaccine during the mass vaccination drive.
Meanwhile, MLA Radheshyam inspected the Community Home Isolation Centre set up at Wabagai High School and extended a sum of Rs 10,000 and face masks to the volunteers of the centre.
