Imphal, October 24 2024:
Demanding appointment of headmaster for Moijing High School in Thoubal district within a week, All Manipur Muslim Students' Organisation (AMMSO) has cautioned of launching agitation if the demand is not fulfilled within the deadline set.
Addressing the media at Manipur Press Club here on Thursday, AMMSO president Imjiyas Heibokmayum regretted that in-spite of the serving as an important educational institute for the surrounding areas the school is bereft of basic infrastructure apart from the existing building in dire need for repairing.
At the same time, the post of the headmaster is also lying vacant, he revealed.
While downgrade from higher secondary to high school some year back has had a demoralising effect on people of the area, prolonged absence of a headmaster at present has further affected the school, with parents no longer interested in sending their wards, the AMMSO president said.
He appealed to the authorities concerned to look into the matter, and take up necessary steps to fill up the post of headmaster and improve condition of the school.
Imjiyas also informed that AAMSO had submitted a memorandum to the education minister on the matter on October 22.In case the government does not honour the genuine demand for appointing a headmaster within one week, AMMSO along with the students will launch agitation, he declared.
