RDSBA conducts mass plantation drive at Andro

Imphal, May 24 2026: The Raja Dumbra Singh Badminton Association, Imphal East, organised a mass plantation drive on Sunday at Hills and Harvest, Andro, as part of activities leading up to World Environment Day 2026.Led by association president Th Sarat Singh and senior players Dr RK Khogendra Singh and N Jashobanta, around 30 members of RDSBA planted 750 saplings of fruit-bearing trees, including jackfruit, mango, apple, guava, santara, and mosambi.

The drive began at 7 am with a brief awareness session.

Jashobanta spoke on the importance of afforestation, combating air pollution, and maintaining local biodiversity.

Dr Khogendra stressed that community participation is key to tackling climate change, adding that empowering local populations helps create sustainable, region-specific solutions.

Th Sarat said the event was organised to promote ecological balance and community wellbeing.

"Moving beyond our indoor court, our players have traded their rackets for shovels and stepped out to champion environmental sustainability", he added.
