Police Commemoration Day observed in districts

Imphal, October 21 2024: Thoubal District Police observed the Police Commemoration Day at the district police headquarters on Monday in honour of the martyred police officers and personnel of the country.

On the occasion, Thoubal SP Rakesh Balwal led others in offering floral tributes as a mark of respect to 24 police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.

The SP also presented gifts to the families of the deceased police personnel.

As part of the observance, a blood donation camp was conducted by RIMS Blood transfusion Unit and Association of Voluntary Blood Donor Manipur, Thoubal District Branch which had total of 50 BSF and police personnel donating blood.

In Tengnoupal district, "Police Commemoration Day" was held at its headquarters in Tengnoupal with SP Rahul Gupta and additional SP (Ops) Md Riyash, leading those gathered in offering homage to the police personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty.

Similar, Kakching district police observed the Police Commemoration Day at the office of the SP at Kakching town.

In addition to family members of the deceased police personnel, the observance was attended by Senior SP Thokchom Vikramjit, additional SP (Ops) Chongtham Binoy, additional SP (L&O) Athokpam Romendro, Sugnu SDPO Ng Suresh Anthony, Kakching SDPO Akoijam Premjit, OCs of police stations in Kakching district, district officials.

SP Vikramjit led others in offering floral tributes in remembrances of the departed personnel.

Gifts were also presented to the families of seven deceased police personnel namely Sapam Rajkumar Singh of Sugnu Mayai Leikai, Chongtham Rishikanta of Thounaojam Mamang Leikai, Maibam Kantakumar of Tejpur Makha Leikai, Huiningshubam Lukhoi of Keirak Mamang Leikai, Naorem Kesho Singh of Kakching Mayai Leikai Yaikhom Pareng, Mayanglambam Chaoba Singh of Kakching Moirangthem Leikai and Mayanglambam Shyamkumar of Kakching Khongnang Mari Phangba.

Chandel District Police in association with 8 Manipur Rifles observed the Police Commemoration Day 2024 at the Leikun campus of 8th Battalion Manipur Rifles.

The event marked by offering floral tributes to the police personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty, was attended by SP Shivanand Surve, 8 th Manipur Rifles CO Salam Somorjit, Chandel additional SP (OPs) TS Chamna Anal, additional SP (L & 0) Shangkerjit Singh Loitongbam, Chandel SDPO Md Jaheruddin, 8th MR deputy commandant Jadumani Singh, AC adjutant Ng Parshing Moyon, JCOs, police station OCs of Chandel district, Chandel district police personnel and personnel of the 8th Manipur Rifles.
