MSKA general council meeting held

The annual general council meeting of Manipur State Kala Akademi (MSKA) was held at Raj Bhavan here on Thursday with Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya, who is also chairman of the Akademi, presiding over.
A release issued by Governor's secretariat informed that chief minister N Biren, the vice-chairperson of MSKA, also attended the meeting, which deliberated on a number of agendas and finalised the list of nominees for MSKA Fellow, Award (Performing Arts), Young Talent Award, Award for Literature and Award for Fine Arts.
A one-minute silence was also observed as a mark of respect to the departed gurus and other cultural personalities of the state, the release informed.
The Governor appreciated the members of MSKA for their understanding and cooperation in passing the resolutions in the meeting and expressed confidence that MSKA will work further as a leading cultural agency in the state for the nourishment of the rich cultural heritage and its legacy.
Chief secretary Dr Vineet Joshi and secretary to Governor Sumant Singh also attended the meeting, the release added.
