Govindas meets SHG members, distributes card

Bishnupur, August 18 2024:
Works minister Govindas Konthoujam interacted with around 600 members of 50 Self Help Groups (SHGs) of Thinungei, Ningthoukhong Kha Khunou and Toupokpi under Thinungei GP in Bishnupur district on Sunday during which he also distributed Farmer's Cards to 200 individuals.
The event was organised jointly by Yening Village Level federation, Lamjing Meira Village Level Federation, and Mangalleibi Village Level Federation formed under Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission of National Rural Livelihood Mission along with Ningthoukhong Kha Khunou Self Help Group, at Thinungei Ward No.8 community hall.
The function was attended by Govindas and Bishnupur District Mission manager Angom Amarjit Singh as chief guest and president respectively while ex-ZIlla Parishad of Thinungei Th Nimai Singh and social worker L Nilachandra Singh were present as guests of honour.
In his address, minister Govindas commended women of Manipur for their concerted efforts to prevent escalation of tension and resolve the crisis currently besieging the state.
He also expressed hope that the present crisis will come to an end and peace restored by next month.
The minister also appealed to the farmers to open bank accounts.
