Assam Rifles celebrates National Youth Day with community initiatives

National Youth Day, observed on January 12 to honour Swami Vivekananda's birth anniversary and his message of self-belief, courage and service, was marked by Assam Rifles through a series of impactful activities across Manipur.
As per a statement issued by the IGAR (South), the Assam Rifles at Chongjang village in Tengnoupal District organised an interactive programme aimed at inspiring young participants to embrace values of discipline, leadership, teamwork and education.
The session placed special emphasis on the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, encouraging the youth to pursue personal growth and contribute positively to society.
Thirteen local youths took part enthusiastically, sharing their aspirations and concerns while engaging in discussions with the personnel.
The interaction highlighted the importance of resilience, harmony and social cohesion in the region.
In Imphal, Assam Rifles organised a Blood Donation Camp at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS).
The Assam Rifles personnel voluntarily donated blood, supporting critical medical needs and reinforcing the spirit of service and solidarity with civil institutions.
Meanwhile, in Ukhrul District, a friendly volleyball match was held at Shakpao village by the Assam Rifles personnel stationed there.
The event drew around 55 villagers, including elders and children, who cheered enthusiastically.
The match promoted physical fitness, teamwork and fair play, while the felicitation of youth players further strengthened camaraderie between the community and Assam Rifles.
The activities reflected the enduring relevance of Swami Vivekananda's vision and the role of youth in nation-building.
