State employees to join Parliament March in April

All India State Government Employees' Confederation (AISGEC), Manipur president Maisnam Joykumar said that employees from the state would be joining the April 11 Parliament March proposed by the AISGEC national executive committee meeting recently.
Addressing the media at Manipur Press Club here on Monday, Joykumar said that the decision for the Parliament March was adopted during the AISGEC national executive meeting held in Kolkata on January 5 and 6.Five members of the state unit also attended the meeting, during which issues and challenges faced by state government employees across the country were discussed.
One of the issues discussed was differential salary structure between state and central government employees as well as deprivation of Old Pension Scheme facilities.
The meeting also discussed impact of privatisation on the economy and resolved to organise protest demonstration in front of the Parliament on April 11 to air their grievances and demand solutions.
Representatives of the state unit of AISGEC would be participating in the protest, he said.
He also informed that the national executive meeting discussed the current crisis in the state and resolved to raise demand to the Centre for early solution to the crisis.
