Imphal, August 11 2024:
The Coordination Committee (CorCom), a conglomerate of armed organisations, declared boycott of celebration of India's Independence Day in Manipur and imposed total shutdown on August 15 as part of the boycott.
The shutdown will be effective from 1 am to 6.30 pm of August 15 but will be exempted for essential services, medical, electricity, water supply, fire service, press and religious ceremonies, a CorCom statement issued by publicity committee informed.
According to the statement, even though Manipur became a part of British Protectorate after the defeat in the Anglo-Manipuri (Kangleipak) war of 1891, all the erstwhile princely states under British India including Manipur regained their sovereign status as per Section 7(1) (b) of the Indian Independence Act (IIA), 1947 passed by the British Parliament.
Accordingly, Manipur (Kangleipak) became a sovereign independent state on August 14, 1947.The CorCom further said that Indian Independence Act, 1947 paved the way for India and Pakistan to remain as independent nations while Manipur had the opportunity to establish a democratic government by replacing monarchy.
Accordingly, the Manipur (Kangleipak) State Constitution Act, 1947 (MSCA) was enacted and became second country in Asia after the Philippines to have parliamentary democracy with own legislature.
However, India forcibly merged Manipur on October 15, 1949 after the then powerless king Bodhchandra was held captive in Shillong and forced to sign the already prepared 'Merger Agreement' on September 21, 1949 in violation of the provisions of Indian Independence Act (IIA), 1947, Manipur (Kangleipak) State Constitution Act (MSCA), 1947, UN Charter and Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties (VCLT), 1969.Such a violation is being challenged since September 28, 1949 by the people of Manipur (Kangleipak) including leaders, the CorCom said.
The movement for self-determination by suppressing colonialism beginning from the first Nupi Lal of 1904' to Irabot's freedom movement rendered meaningless with India's forcible merger of Manipur (Kangleipak).
In fact, India re-colonised Manipur (Kangleipak) from the colonial power British.
To free Manipur (Kangleipak) from this colonial path, decolonization process has been continuing while India adopts various tactics including inhumane acts to complete re-colonisation.
Among such acts being successfully carried out by India include establishment of cryptocracy, clashes to disunite people, pushing people to abject poverty, improper education, drug consumption among youth and reducing sports activities.
All these activities are a part of the force liquidation of the society and establishment of cryptocracy is the first and foremost means to colonise a society and this is characteristic of colonial owners, the CorCom said.
According to the statement, elections are being held under India's eye similar to the election conducted during the time when Manipur (Kangleipak) was independent nation but India controls administration in totality.
India can do everything they like while leaving our leaders just namesake and this is called cryptocracy.
Cryptocracy is being clearly witnessed in the present crisis in Manipur, the CorCom said and questions as to what courage state rulers have in the present crucial period.
Even as more than 60,000 people have become refugees in their own land for more than one year and four months, the namesake Manipur government could do nothing as Delhi rulers are acting at their free will, CorCom said while reiterating that chief minister of Manipur (Kangleipak) and cabinet ministers are all for namesake.
All the policies and programmes are being chalked out and implemented by India in conformity with the re-colonisation process which could be comprehended from hindering the people to produce goods.
India's objective is to uproot future generation and success of re-colonisation process cent percent despite consuming time.
Lengthening of the ongoing crisis, silence of head of Delhi rulers on Manipur (kangleipak) situation and non-visit to the state as well as becoming of head of the state government as best actor of cryptocracy are all the strategies for success of recolonisation process, the CorCom said.
The statement further maintained that the ongoing crisis in Manipur (Kangleipak) is a proxy war waged by India to completely uproot Manipur so that the society could never rise up again and this is being well known by all the sections of people in Manipur.
For the success of their policies and programmes, India not only waged proxy war but is also patronising the proxy government in Manipur (Kangleipak) .
There will no end to strategies for colonial owners and colonial forces to complete re-colonisation process as cryptocrats in consultation with their Delhi rulers are raising numerous mafia gangs while those who understand the 'game' being played clearly are being threatened and their voices being muzzled, the CorCom said.
