Imphal, June 10 2025:
Federation of Hao-mee (FoH) has asked the central government to up hold and honour decision taken by the Manipur Legislative Assembly on February 29, 2024 for the withdrawal of suspension of operation (SoO) pact signed with Kuki militant groups since 2008.In a release, FoH publicity secretary Huiremcha Henba reminded the centre about the state assembly's resolution to revoke the SoO agreement signed by the state and central governments with 25 Kuki armed groups (17 armed groups under KNO and eight under the UPF fold).
He questioned how the state and central governments entered into the SoO pact with the same armed groups which are also demanding their rights and cognizance by the government of Myanmar.
The Myanmarese armed groups had announced that they are not waging war against India and that India is not their enemy, said the secretary, while alleging that these outfits' objective is to loot and kill people, and indulge in drug trafficking.
Having realised their agenda, the state assembly minutely discussed nefarious activities of such groups and resolved to revoke the SoO pact with Kuki armed groups, he maintained.
The secretary also insisted any formal talks between government of India and the Kuki armed groups should not cover matters about Manipur.
