15-day Khubak Eshei workshop concludes

Moirang, August 09 2026: A 15-day workshop-cum-production on Khubak Eshei,aimed at reviving and promoting the traditional art form among the younger generation, concluded at Gopal Dev Mandop, Nachou, today.

The workshop was organised by the Vishnu Art & Culture Research and Training Centre, Bishnupur, under the grant-in-aid scheme of the Chief Minister gi Artist Singgi Tengbang of the Department of Art & Culture.

Home and YAS Minister Konthoujam Govindas attended the valedictory function as chief guest, while Prof Thiyam Yaima Singh, president of the Vishnu Art & Culture Research and Training Centre, presided over the programme.

Dr Irom Robindro Singh, Assistant Professor, MUC, Imphal, attended as guest of honour.

As part of the programme, certificates and honours were presented to students of the Vishnu Art & Culture Research and Training Centre who had secured first class in BA Nat Sankirtan.

The programme concluded with a presentation of Khubak Eshei by students and gurus of the centre, which enthralled the gathering.
