Discourse on climate held, saplings planted

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Tamenglong celebrated World Environment Day, 2025 on the theme 'Beat Plastic Pollution' along with a tree plantation drive to promote afforestation and combat climate change on Thursday.
Interactive sessions on climate change adaptation and the role of farmers in environmental protection were also conducted during the programme.
Experts emphasised the importance of agroforestry for degraded land rehabilitation.
The event saw enthusiastic participation of farmers, local leaders, and agricultural experts.
Leaflets, hand-outs on various government sponsored schemes, critical inputs like seeds, sticky traps and botanical formulations supported by Green Biotech Eco Solutions Private Limited were distributed to the farmers.
Similarly, Longmai Nature Club organised World Environment Day cum 7th foundation day of the club at Longmai Part 3 Baptist Church conference hall, Noney town.
The programme was attended by various CSO leaders, members of Longmai Nature Club, students, village authority and religious leaders of Noney district.
As a part of the programme, tree saplings were planted in the church campus.
Plastic bottle banks were also handed over for installation at designated locations apart from a power point presentation on progress and activities of Longmai Nature Club (LNC) was presented by finance secretary Ganreilung Kamei and launch of green pledge signature campaign.
