Three juvenile cadres of UKNA held in CCpur

Imphal, March 05 2025: Security forces arrested one Janggoulun Haokip alias Marco (19) along with three juveniles, all cadres of the United Kuki National Army (UKNA), from Bethel, in Churachandpur town under Churachandpur police station on Monday.

The arrested individuals were involved in extortion, drug trafficking, and smuggling and sale of weapons.

Security forces recovered two pistols from their possession.

In a separate operation on Tuesday, police arrested an active member of KCP (MFL), identified as Yumnam Suresh Meitei alias Thoungamba Mangang alias Poirei Mangang (28) from Porompat Ayangpalli Road near Modern College under Porompat PS in Imphal East district.

He was allegedly involved in extorting money from the general public, private firms, and government officials.

During the operation, police recovered 10 No 36 hand grenades, 10 tube launchers, a two-wheeler, an iron ammunition box painted green, three mobile phones, a wallet, and a blue bag from his possession.

On the same day, security forces arrested two individuals from an area under Kumbi PS in Bishnupur district.

The arrested persons have been identified as Huidrom Romen Singh (44), an ex-cadre of PREPAK, and Huidrom Naresh Singh (32).A 9mm pistol with magazine and two mobile phones were recovered from them.

In another operation the same day, police arrested two active members of RPF/PLA namely, Ngairangbam Ajit Singh (59) of Yourabung Mayai Leikai under Lamlai PS, and Laishram Bijoy Singh (56) of Sagolmang Khewa under Sagolmang PS, Imphal East.

They were arrested from the hill top of Yourabung Mayai Leikai, near a waiting shed.

They were involved in extortion of money from general public, private firms, government officials, warehouses in Mantripukhri & other areas of Imphal.

Police recovered one mobile phone from them.
