Nurses advised to work diligently

The capping, lamp lighting and oath-taking ceremony for the 23rd batch (2024-2026) of ANM/FHW students of Female Health Workers Training School was held at GM Hall, here, on Wednesday.
Speaking as chief guest of the function organised by the FHW Training School, Lamphel RD Wing Complex, health director Dr Chambo Gonmei reminded the graduates that nurses play a crucial role as the backbone of the healthcare system and without them, healthcare facilities would be severely handicapped.
Dr Chambo also acknowledged that entering the nursing profession is no easy feat and commended the students for their dedication in undergoing rigorous training.
He wished the new nurses success in their future careers and urged them to serve patients with care while adhering to rules and regulations.
The director further encouraged the nurses not to view postings in remote or rural areas as punishments, explaining that every nurse will eventually experience both favourable and challenging assignments during their careers.
He reminded them that their contributions to the rural healthcare system are vital and much needed.
The director also shared that the health department will push for establishment of a paramedical institute in each district of the state and work towards completing the construction of unfinished healthcare centres.
Presided over by Family Welfare Services director Dr N Hemantakumar, the function was also attended by Manipur Nursing Council registrar Dr A Jamuna and FHW Training School principal Th Sanatombi Devi as guest of honour and chief host respectively.
Certificates were also distributed to exam toppers of the school during the function.
