Drone bombings merit global condemnation: Dingo

Social Welfare minister Heikham Dingo expressed that Kuki narco-terrorists using drone bombs and targeting Meetei villages must be universally condemned.
The minister shared his view on the drone attacks during a visit to Shija Hospitals to inquire condition of Wangkhem Sanatombi Chanu, d/o Gambhir Meetei, who suffered shrapnel wounds in one of the drone bomb attack.
Dingo stated that use of drone bombs and snipers during internal conflicts is violation of international law, as such weapons are typically reserved for wars between nations.
He emphasised that, irrespective of party affiliations, all should strongly condemn such acts.
It is unfortunate that political differences persist even when the state is facing challenging situation.
Politics should be set aside in these times of suffering, Now is the moment for all of us, across party lines, to unite and work together to support Manipur, he maintained.
The minister also announced that additional security forces would be deployed in Sekmai assembly constituency and that discussions are ongoing with the chief minister to address the issue of drone bombings.
He encouraged the public to provide feedback on this matter.
During the inspection visit; the minister was accompanied by staffers of Imphal West DC's office and OG of Sekmai police station.
