Imphal, July 02 2024:
Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) has condemned as 'frivolous' complaint against professor Uday Reddy, who it said is a distinguished academician instrumental in portraying the true history of the Kuki people in India.
In a press communique issued Tuesday, KIM conveyed that Prof Reddy's dedication to uncovering and disseminating the authentic history of the tribal Kuki community stands as a beacon of scholarly integrity and truth.
It maintained that his efforts to expose the fabricated narratives of Meetei historians, who have manipulated Manipur's history to suit their own agendas, have provided a balanced and factual account of the region's complex past.
KIM noted that Prof Reddy has courageously highlighted how certain Meetei propagandists, including influential media figures, have played a divisive role in Manipur.
By targeting the tribal Kuki community and perpetuating ignorance and prejudice, these propagandists have sought to maintain a distorted narrative, it further emphasised.
