"Saroi Khangba" rituals performed

Imphal, March 01 2025: The traditional rituals of "Saroi Khangba" were held widely today, which is the first Saturday of Lamta month of the Manipuri lunar calendar.

It may be noted that "Saroi Khangba" rituals are performed every year to appease the evil spirits on the first Saturday of Lamta (month).

Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board (LSTB) performed the first Saroi Khangba rituals today morning at Khurai Ahongpung, Tera Wangthonbipung, Kongba Sadoupung and Kakwa Lamdaipung for the peace and prosperity of the State.

The rituals were held in the presence of Amaiba, Amaibi and Pena of the Board led by Maiba Sanglakpa Salam Mani.

Uttra Shanglen Sana Konung also performed the "Saroi Khangba" ritual in the morning and "Santhong Latpa" ceremony in the afternoon today.

Similarly, Lamdaibung Social Welfare Club also performed the "Saroi Khangba" rituals at the sacred site of Lamtaipung (Lamdaibung) .

The rituals were held in the presence of members of Uttra Sanglen Sana Konung, Pandit Loisang, Sana Konung and Sanamahi Temple Board.

Moreover, Nongmeibung Women's Development Meira Paibi Association in collaboration with Koloi Leima Lai Committee, Nongmeibung conducted the "Saroi Khangba" rituals at Nongmeibung today.

It was followed by a public discourse which was attended by United Peoples Front, Manipur (UPF) president Nongthombam Rupachandra, advisor L Jadumani and women folk of Nongmeibung area.
