Imphal, March 29 2025: Thounaojam Chaoba Memorial Charitable Trust organised distribution of pensions for widows and elderly persons in Singjamei assembly constituency at Singjamei Chingamakha Kshetri Leikai Nambul Mapal on Friday.

A total of 190 persons over the age of 60 and 75 widows received their old age and widow pensions during the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Trust trustee Thounaojam Romen opined that true equality and development in society can only be achieved when people help one another during times of need and hardship.

The pension distribution was organised in sync with the same principle, he said.

The trustee also mentioned that although plans are in place to distribute pensions to elderly and differently-abled individuals in other assembly constituencies, the process has been delayed due to the ongoing crisis in the state.
