Six stolen vehicles recovered, two arrested

Imphal, December 26 2022: Apart from nabbing two members of a vehicle lifting gang identified as Yumkhaibam Islao Rahaman (23), son of Md Islamuddin of Lilong Dam Mamang and Khullakpam Sahid Ali alias Mamei alias Ashif (20), son of Md Rashid Ali of Lilong Dam Makha, Thoubal district police commandos recovered six stolen vehicles.

Though all the stolen vehicles were recovered from the residence of one Imtiyas alias Apik, son of late Md Helim of Lilong Mayai Leikai, the police failed to arrest Imtiyas.

The recovered vehicles included Honda Dio (black), TVS NTORQ (black) ,TVS NTORQ (black & Red), TVS NTORQ (black & red), Maru-ti Alto Lxi (silky silver) and Maruti Alto Lxi (silky silver MN01X 2622).According to a source, a team of Thoubal police commando raided the house of Imtiyas upon getting specific information at about 6.30am on Sunday and recovered the six vehicles.

While searching for members of the vehicle lifting gang, the commando team also received inputs that some members of the gang are planning to steal vehicle from near BMC Church, Chingmeirong and the team managed to nab two members of the gang namely Yumkhaibam Islai Rahaman and Khullakpam Sahid Ali.

Both the arrested gang members along with all the recovered vehicles have been handed over to Lilong police station for further necessary action.
