MSKA.IRCS MSB teams call on Governor

Manipur State Kala Akademi (MSKA) secretary Sunanda Thokchom, along with two officials called on Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at Raj Bhavan, here on Thursday.
In a release, PRO Raj Bhavan informed that Sunanda gave a comprehensive briefing on the activities taken up by MSKA to nurture the rich cultural heritage of Manipur and informed the Governor on the various cultural initiatives.
She also urged the Governor to attend the upcoming MSKA Annual Awards distribution.
Meanwhile, representatives of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Manipur State Branch (MSB) comprising vice president Dr RK Nimai Singh, chairman, secretary and treasurer also called on the Governor Thursday evening and apprised him about var-.
ious humanitarian activities taken up by IRCS in Manipur, including distribution of relief materials to the internally displaced persons (IDPs) residing in various relief camps both in the hills and the valley.
They continued that health camps have been conducted to provide psychological support to the IDPs along with organising blood donation camps at regular intervals in collaboration with various medical institutions.
Highlighting their grievances arising out of shortage of fund, they requested the Governor to support the organisation in this regard.
The Governor appreciated the work done by the organisation and assured to extend support, it said.
