RIMS Dental College celebrates Prosthodontics Day

Department of Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge, Dental College, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, celebrated World Prosthodontics Day 2025 today under the theme "God Create...We Recreate" at the Examination Hall, of Dental College, RIMS, Imphal on Wednesday.
According to a press release issued by RIMS Media Cell, the celebrations spanned an entire month, from December 22, 2024, to January 22, 2025, and featured diverse programmes designed to raise awareness about the specialty and promote oral health and prosthodontics care.
The celebrations commenced with an inaugural session graced by RIMD director Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, as the chief guest and Dental College, RIMS principal Prof B Praveen Reddy as president in the presence of Dental College, RIMS Prosthodontics Department head Prof Anand Rajapur.
Key activities included outreach programmes such as den tal screening camps and patient education drives conducted at Old Age Homes in Mongsangei and Langol, as well as a relief camp in Imphal East, where free treatments and dentures were provided to patients in need.
Public awareness initiatives featured a street play and educational videos on oral hygiene, preserving natural dentition, timely tooth replacement, and denture care.
To engage students, the department organised poster and model competitions highlighting advancements in prosthodontics and a reel-making competition themed "Good Mouth, Good Health" for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Prizes were also distributed to the winning students of various competition held during the celebrations.
The event witnessed participation from doctors, staff, and students of the Dental College, underscoring the department's dedication to advancing prosthodontics care and education in the region.
