EDP on animal husbandry underway

Imphal, August 21 2024:
A three-day-long Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) focused on animal husbandry, which is being organised under the Chief Minister's Entrepreneur Support Scheme (CMESS), began from Wednesday, at the Farmers' Training Hall, Veterinary Complex near Sanjenthong, here.
The programme was launched by veterinary & animal husbandry services director Dr RK Khogendrajit, along with the senior administrative officer and joint director (administration/ planning) of the department.
According to a statement of the department, the EDP is aimed at training 62 shortlisted beneficiaries from the state who are involved in various aspects of animal husbandry.
The training, which will continue till Friday.

Throughout the programme.
nine resource persons from the department will deliver lectures on crucial topics related to poultry farming, piggery farming, and dairy farming.
The training will cover essential areas such as site selection, housing, feeding management, and prevention of common diseases, including vaccination schedules.
This initiative is part of the government's efforts to equip local entrepreneurs with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in the field of animal husbandry, the statement added.
