UP minister, others call on Governor

Uttar Pradesh minister of state for Jal Shakti Dinesh Khatik called on Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at Raj Bhavan on Monday and invited him to the Maha Kumbh Mela at Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.
The Maha Kumbh Mela - which is celebrated every 12 years - holds immense cultural heritage and religious significance, a release by PRO Raj Bhavan said.
On the other hand, Brahma Kumaris, Manipur in-charge BK Nilima along with members of the organisation also called on the Governor at Raj Bhavan, the release stated.
During the meeting, the members discussed with the Governor about launching of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhi-yaan from Raj Bhavan and anticipated the same to be a meaningful and impactful collaborative effort to benefit the people and promote a drug-free society, it added.
Similarly, Manipur Staff Selection Commission chairperson T Ranjit Singh called on Governor and briefed him on the functions and duties of the newly constituted Commission.
The Governor asked the chairman to expedite ways for full functioning of the Commission, it informed.
The release further mentioned that Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) director Dr G Sunil Kumar Sharma along with RIMS Hospital, Imphal medical Superintendent professor N Sanjib Singh also called on Governor at Raj Bhavan.
They briefed the Governor on the milestones and achievements met by the institute as a premier healthcare facility not only for Manipur but also for the Northeastern region.
Governor appreciated the continuous efforts of the institute for providing the best healthcare facilities in the region and asked them to continue their efforts in the best interest of the people, it added.
