Imphal, April 18 2026: Living Arts Academy Manipuri (LAAMAN) Thang-Ta marked its 43rd Foundation Day on Saturday with a simple yet meaningful ceremony honoring Thang-Ta masters and celebrating student achievements.

The event was graced by dignitaries, including G Dharmadas, Joint Director, Arts & Culture; Ch Babul, president, NEINASANG; and Makhonmani Mongsatabam.

The celebration commenced with a floral tribute at the shrine of Iputhou Pakhangba.

The ceremony paid homage to 16 Sintakpurel (teachers) who had been instrumental in preserving the art of Thang-Ta since the reign of Meidingu Chandrakriti.

At the event, LAAMAN Thang-Ta felicitated several Thang-Ta masters with honorary shawls.

Three outstanding students - Mutum Salomi, Khangenbam Luckychand, and Salam Sivaraj- were also recognised fortheir contributions.
