Kakching-Tekcham Road construction soon: MLA Rameshwar

Kakching MLA Mayanglambam Rameshwar has stated that funds for construction of the Kakching to Tekcham via Irengbam Road has been already sanctioned and the work commence after issuing of the tender very soon.
MLA Rameshwar was speaking during a ceremony of handing over two roads, namely Kakching Sumak Leikai Keithel stretch and Kakching Wairi Thongam Leikai Punshi, whose construction were taken up using Paver Block method under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI), to the public.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA informed that he has been contributing his mite to provide all basic amenities to the public ever since he was elected as the people's representative.
A total of over 80 roads in different localities under his constituency have been either repaired or newly constructed.
All road constructions and repair works under his constituency will be completed within the next three years, assured the MLA.
Regarding the road stretching from Kakching to Tekcham, Rameshwar disclosed that he had approached competent authority to permit construction from his local area development fund.
However, as the stretch falls under the PMGSY of the Ministry of Rural Development, the process cannot be initiated, he said.
MLA Rameshwar also lamented obstruction by certain individuals and groups influenced by external forces who have been agitating for early initiation of the road construction, undermining the efforts made both the minister concerned and himself.
He also mentioned that no development projects had been initiated in the last 15 years.
All these projects were started during the last three years of his tenure, and they are progressing gradually, so it will take some time to complete them, he explained.
