Senapati, December 16 2024: A seven days' Christmas Night Carnival, 2024 commenced from Monday at Senapati district headquarters.

Christmas Night Carnival, 2024 is being organised by the district administration, Senapati in collaboration with Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA) and its federating units including the Mao Students' Union (MSU), Maram Students' Union (MKS), Poumai Naga Students' Union (PNTM), Thangal Students' Union (TAJ) and Zeliangrong Students' Union-Senapati Zone.

Extending festive greetings at the inaugural function of the event, SDSA president Saloni Tony said SDSA welcomes all the citizens of the district to be part of the joyous season where families, friends and community come together to celebrate the birth of the Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ.

Saloni said that Christmas Night Carnival is being organised by the district administration in collaboration with SDSA and its federating units with the aim of celebrating the spirit of Christmas through music, dance and community engagement.

According to Saloni Tony, the night carnival will feature various choirs, dancers and singers from different communities and will provide wonderful opportunity for fellowship and sharing the joy of the season.

SDSA believes that participation in night carnival would greatly enrich experience and contribute to the festive atmosphere.

Christmas Night Carnival will continue till December 22 with various competitions, which will not only showcase talents of the people but also serve as a platform for connecting with fellow colleagues and broader community, he added.

While calling for mass participation at the night carnival, the SDSA urged everyone to maintain a clean mind and heart at the same time maintain a clean environment and surroundings by not littering any waste during the celebration.

He further appealed people not to indulge in any anti-social activities that could hamper the spirit of Christmas.

The seven days Christmas Night Carnival will witness different competition events including choral competitions, group dance, carnival solo voice hunt and many more.
