Huge consignment of IMFL confiscated

Imphal, March 15 2023: In four different operations/raids, Imphal West dis trict police confiscated huge consignment of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and DIC liquor from different parts of the district on Wednesday.

A team of Imphal police station led by its officer incharge N Ingocha conducted a special liquor drive in and around North AOC, Thang meiband and Khoyathong area on Wednesday.

During the drive, 144 beer cans, 54 bottles of whiskey, 34 bottles of Rum and 80 litres of DIC liquor were seized.

The seized items have been handed over to Excise Department, Lamphelpat.

In another operation, CDO Imphal West raided three shops located in Thang-meiband area namely Imoinu Shop, Khoyathong, People's Store, Thangmeiband and Sunita Dukan, Khoyathong.

During the diive the CDO team seized 7 bottles of McDowell's 750ml, 72 cans of Diablo beer 500ml, 24 cans of 8.6 beer 500ml, 47 cans of Bira Boom 500ml, 8 cans of King fisher beer 500ml, 20 bottles of Old Monk 180ml, 78 bottles of McDowell's 180ml, 11 bottles of Old Monk 750ml, 16 bottles of Oppa wine 360ml, 3 bottles of McDowell's 750ml, and 19 litres of DIC liquor 1 litre.

Three salesmen namely Bishal Thapa (23) son of Kumar Thapa of Kangpokpi IT road, Remei Alex (19) son of Akham Rimei of Nambol Gaipuinam and Salam Tomthil Singh (23) son of late S Deben of Thangmeiband were also picked up.

The three individuals along with the seized liquor have been handed over to Excise department, Lamphelpat.

In another drive, CDO Imphal West team raided five shops in Chingamakha and Thongju area namely Star Hotel, AS Meat Centre and Mathel Meat centre of Chingamakha and two shops in Thongju area.

During the operation, the CDO team seized 15 bottles of DIC liquor 1 litre, 10 bottles of DIC liquor 500 ml, 3 bottles of McDowell's 375 ml, 8 bottles of McDowell's 180ml, 3 bottles of Old Monk 375 ml, 5 bottles of Old Monk 180 ml, 2 bottles of Oppa wine 360 ml, 2 bottles of B7180 ml, 79 cans of Chang beer, 20 cans of Kingfisher beer, 1 bottle of Royal Stag 180 ml, 14 cans of Tuborg beer 500 ml, 28 cans of Diablo beer 500 ml, 3 bottles of Old Monk beer 500 ml, and 15 bottles of Royal Stag 375 ml.

Five people were also picked in the drive but their names were not disclosed by police.

The five people along with the seized liquor have been handed over the excise department.

In yet another raid con ducted in five hotels located behind Polo ground here, CDO Imphal West picked up five people, and seized 9 bottles of Blue Time premium whiskey 750 ml, 3 bottles of Amigos XXX Rum 750 ml, 12 bottles of KD 50 Rum 750 ml, 6 bottles of McDowell's 750 ml, 1 bottle of Royal Challenge 750 ml, 7 bottles of Officers' Choice 375 ml, 1 bottle of McDowell's 375 ml, 1 bottle of Old Monk 750 ml, 2 bottles of Old Monk 180 ml, 6 cans of Chang beer 500 ml.

2 bottles of DIC liquor 1 litre, and 6 bottles of DIC liquor 500 ml.

The five people along with the seized liquor have been handed over to excise department.
