Imphal, February 13 2025:
Manipuri Association of Canada (MAC) has urged individuals interested in studying or immigrating to Canada to approach the association before consulting other agencies and spending large sums of money.
The association also assured of providing all necessary assistance free of charge.
According to a statement of MAC, some students coming to Canada for their studies have reported that certain immigration consultancy service providers are charging excessive amount of money under the guise of offering guidance to those looking to study or immigrate to Canada for work purposes.
While acknowledging and commending consultancy service providers for assisting people, MAC dissuaded consultancy firms from charging irrelevant fees.
The association said that it has no issues with consultancy firms charging fees required by the Canadian Immigration Authority, as well as for their consultancy services.
However, exorbitant charges for consultancy services are deemed inappropriate.
"Such practices add financial strain on those seeking guidance, even as many individuals who have already arrived in Canada are often left unsure of what steps to take next," noted MAC and urged both parents and those coming to Canada for work or settlement to take the matter seriously.
