Jiribam DC inaugurates Anganwadi centres

Deputy commissioner Krishna Kumar on Wednesday inaugurated newly constructed Anganwadi centres at Latingkhal Part-1 and Part-II under Borobekra CD Block, Jiribam district.
These centre's have been constructed under MGNREGS under Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) project.
Speaking at the inauguration programme, the deputy commissioner highlighted the importance of girl child education, and emphasised the need for special focus on the overall education of girls and emotional support to the girl from the mother.
He urged the community to actively monitor incidents of child marriage and report them to authorities concerned for timely intervention.

Krishna Kumar also stressed the need for regular health check-ups for pregnant women and lactating mothers, as well as the provision of supplementary nutritious foods for children under the age of 6 years.
He encouraged the villagers to avail free healthcare services at the Jiribam district hospital and to utilise the ambulance service provided by the hospital in case of emergencies.
Calling upon the villagers to share responsibility for the development of their community and nation, Krishna Kumar reminded that collective efforts and active participation are essential for achieving progress and improving the lives of the people.
The inauguration of the Anganwadi centres will benefit hundreds of children, pregnant women and lactating mothers in the area, providing them with access to essential services and support.
With the opening of these centres, Jiribam district takes a significant step towards achieving the goals of improving child and maternal health, promoting education, and empowering communities.
The programme was attended by Borobekra ZP Samuel Bose, Borobekra BDO RK Sailash Singh, pradhan and members of Borobekra ZP, officials of the district administration, ICDS workers, ASHA workers and local community leaders.
