Imphal, April 09 2025: A two-day 'Hands-On Workshop on Scientific Writing, AI Tools & Publication Mastery' jointly organised by Manipur University Department of Zoology and Kamakhya Pemton College, Hiyangthang commenced at the Department of Zoology Annexe Building on Wednesday.

The workshop is being participated by 116 college teachers, university faculty members, research scholars, and postgraduate students from across the state.

The inaugural session was attended by MU vice-chancellor professor N Lokendra Singh as chief guest, Department of Zoology head professor Th Binoy Singh as president and School of Life Sciences dean Debananda Singh Ningthoujam as guest of honour along With MU College Development Council former director and programme convener professor N Mohilal Meitei and organising secretary associate professor Dr Sivakumar Vijayaraghavalu.

During the workshop, the participants will be trained on tools such as ChatGPT, Elicit, Jenni.ai, Scite.ai for content generation and scientific clarity; bitmaps, Scinapse, ResearchRabbit for literature review and mapping; referencing and citation tools for effective manuscript preparation and techniques for journal selection and avoiding common publication pitfalls.

Sessions will also focus on research design, ethics, and scientific communication strategies, ensuring that attendees can directly apply these skills to their ongoing research projects and thesis work.

Informing that all the participants showed eagerness to up-skill themselves with practical knowledge of Al-powered research and writing tools, a release stated that the sessions are being led by Guru Nanak College (Autonomous), Chennai, Department of Plant Biology and Plant Biotechnology assistant professor Dr E Gayathiri and NIT Manipur Department of Chemistry assistant professor Dr S Nagarajan as resource persons.
