Imphal, February 06 2025:
Since the inception of the PM-DevINE scheme in October 2022, several key infrastructure projects have been sanctioned across the country including Manipur, aiming to enhance education, health, connectivity, and livelihood opportunities in the states.
As per the latest update provided by the minister of state for DoNER, Dr Sukanta Majumdar, in a written reply in Rajya Sabha on Thursday, multiple projects in Manipur have received approvals, with most of them having work awarded.
Among the sanctioned projects, work has been awarded for the development of infrastructure at Manipur Technical University (MTU), the processing zone of Manipur IT SEZ at Mantripukhri, and infrastructure development for Dhanamanjuri University (DMU).
Additionally, the construction and equipping of a 60-bedded State Mental Hospital have been approved, along with the establishment of an Artist's Village to promote the unique Longpi Black Pottery art form.
However, two major health and cultural education-related projects remain pending as work has not yet been awarded.
These include infrastructure development for Manipur University of Culture at Wakha, Imphal East, and providing super-speciality and assured specialty healthcare in remote and hill districts.
