AR provides medical aid, relief items

Assam Rifles distributed first-aid kit at Old Samtal, Phoilen arid Tuitong villages on Tuesday, bene-fitting approximately 200 villagers.
According to a PRO IGAR (S) release, with minimal healthcare infrastructure in villages along the Indo-Myanmar border, Assam Rifles took proactive steps to meet the medical needs of the villagers.
The initiative offered a wide array of services, including essential medical supplies, bandages, antiseptics, pain relievers, and other items necessary for basic medical care.
Assam Rifles also distributed relief materials and provided assistance to villagers affected by Cyclone Remal in Chakpikarong, Chandel district on Tuesday.
Cyclone Remal caused incessant rainfall in the Chakpikarong area from May 27 to 29, 2024, resulting in flooding of low - lying areas, increased water levels of Chakpi river, and damage to few temporary houses.
Assam Rifles distributed relief materials, including daily use items, to the affected people and also assisted in reconstruction of damaged houses and habitats.
Basic essential items like rice, pulse and flour were given to 20 families in the Sajik Tampak area, the PRO informed in another release.
