Imphal, January 04 2025: Tungjoy Glory Day 2025 (Veymai Teithe) held under the motto 'Aveir Athro' began at Tungjoy (Veymai) village on Saturday, showcasing a unique blend of cultural pride, spiritual gratitude, and remembrance of ancestral legacies, symbolising the unity and strength of the community.

The opening ceremony was marked by a grand gathering of villagers and distinguished guests with Senapati deputy commissioner Mamoni Doley, Senapati SP Anupam and Mao Maram, Tadubi SDO/BDO M Sheveine attending the event as chief guest, guest of honour and chief host, respectively.

The day's programme featured traditional rituals, cultural performances, and ceremonial blessings, all reflecting the deep-rooted customs and values of the Veymai people.

These rituals not only showcased the community's rich heritage but also served as an opportunity to express collective gratitude to God for His bountiful blessings.

The celebration will culminate on Sunday with a spirited folk song competition.

Adding to the significance, the village's oldest elder will impart his blessings, reinforcing the connection between the past, present, and future.
