AIMS, KIMACS condole demise of Dr Khumallambam Sarojini

Apunba Imagi Machasing (AIMS), Manipur has condoled the untimely demise of art and culture former director and Manipur State Kala Akademi former secretary Dr Khumallam bam Sarojini, who passed away on Tuesday.
In a release, AIMS acknowledged that Dr Sarojini's untiring efforts in the collection of 'Puya' manuscripts and historical materials from Myanmar, Tripura, Bangladesh, and the United Kingdom have ensured that Manipuri cultural history is well-preserved for the future generations.
Dr Sarojini's vision brought the pony project to Marjing, and her pivotal role in integrating Thang-Ta, a traditional martial arts form, into the school syllabus has enriched the education of countless students, it added.
AIMS also prayed for her soul to find eternal peace, and her memory forever serve as a beacon of dedication and love for our cultural heritage.
Kanglei Indigenous Martial Arts and Cultural Society (KIMACS) also conveyed its deepest condolences over the untimely demise of first female Art and Culture director of the state Dr Kh Sarojini.
In a release, KIMACS recalled Dr Sarojini's role in development and promotion of Manipur's art and culture, and formation of a 15-member Committee for Formation of Common Syllabus and Curriculum of Thang-Ta in 2007, which ultimately led to the introduction of Thang-ta course in school syllabi.
The Society also shared the grief of the bereaved family.
