Director vows upgrade of RIMS Psychiatry Dept

Imphal, June 03 2024: As the Department of Psychiatry, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) celebrated its 47th foundation day on Monday, director Dr G Sunilkumar has announced plans to transform the department into a multi-faceted unit.

Speaking during the celebration held at Dr Kamal Hall, Dr Sunilkumar acknowledged the department's dedication to patient care service and assured the administration's commitment to upgrading its facilities and services.

Dr Sunilkumar, who attended the event as chief guest, commended the department for its high standard of professionalism in treatment and consultation and urged the staff members to continue serve the patients with same zeal and dedication.

He revealed plans to increase the faculty and enhance the number of MD and PG seats, while underscoring the department 's vital role in society.

Presided over by Department of Psychiatry head Dr S Gojendra, the celebration was also attended by RIMS medical superintendent Dr Nepram Sanjib and deputy director (adminis-tration) RK Mecolt as guests of honour.

Distinguished doctors such as Dr S Gyaneshwar, Dr N Heramani, Dr M Akshaykumar, and Foundation Day Organising chairperson Prof RK Lenin also shared the dais.

The celebration concluded with honouring of alumni, who were presented with gifts in recognition of their contributions in the held of Psychiatry.
