Imphal, March 01 2025:
Former Minister Th Biswajit has appealed to all communities in Manipur to put aside past grievances and work towards forgiveness and understanding to restore normalcy in the State.
He made the statement at the opening ceremony of a hockey tournament at Singjamei Wangma Kshetri Leikai today.
At the function, Biswajit continued that constant fighting will not yield positive outcomes for any community.
Both sides may have legitimate grievances but only forgiveness and reconciliation can take the State forward, he added.
He, meanwhile, said that placing that State Assembly under suspended animation may be a short term arrangement.
Former Lamlai AC MLA Kh Ibomcha, on the other hand, said that discipline is a vital virtue that enables individuals to prosper in various aspects of life.
Saying that elected representatives should not make a statement which can create an issue or animosity among the people, the former MLA added that politicians should work beyond religious lines to maintain social harmony.
Any wrongdoing should not be concealed or swept under the rug, he added.
