ADC forum opposes recruitment process

Ex-ADC Members' Forum, Manipur has opposed the ongoing recruitment process for various posts under the ADC, citing absence of elected district councils.
The Forum in its general body meeting held at Senapati district headquarters discussed and deliberated on the issues pertaining to the ADCs in Manipur and unanimously resolved to oppose the recruitment process for appointment to various posts under the ADCs in the absence of elected district councils of ADC.
The meeting resolved to urge the government to hold early elections to the ADCs for reinstating with full powers and functions granted under the Manipur Hill Areas District Council 3rd Amendment Act, 2008 .
The forum also agreed to collaborate with all stakeholders to expedite the implementation of the pension scheme.
During a media briefing, RS Ngaranchui, convenor ExADC Members Forum Manipur, announced that it had resolved to request the state government to hold the ADC elections as soon as possible, without considering alternatives such as constituting an Administrative Committee based on the 2008 District Council Amendment for the six ADCs.
The meeting also urged the government to halt any recruitment processes until the ADCs are made operational, he added.
