SDSA conducts surprise check of offices

Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA) conducted surprise checks at various government departments in Senapati district on Monday and found many employees either missing or absent due to the ethnic violence since May, 2023.SDSA conducted the drive to check irregularities of staff, which caused immense hardships and inconveniences to the public.
While appreciating and acknowledging regularity of many officers, the SDSA expressed dismay that some departments were found locked despite Monday being first working day of the week.
According to a statement, SDSA expressed remorse over inadequate number of staff in almost all the departments due to the ethnic violence.
There was also lack of basic amenities including power backup and internet connectivity in almost all the departments, the SDSA said and appealed to all heads of department/offices to be regular, punctual and diligent to their duties.
The SDSA also said that its volunteers would be carrying out similar checking/inspection in the coming days to ease public grievances in availing government facilities.
It also warned of strict action against irregular DLOs and staff while appealing to the state government to immediately arrange necessary staff/officers in all departments for smooth functioning of offices.
