Applications invited for Kharif paddy crop loss compensation

Imphal, September 28 2024:
The Agriculture Department, Government of Manipur has announced financial assistance for farmers who were unable to cultivate Kharif paddy in the current year due to the ongoing crisis in the state.
Farmers can apply for the compensation through an online portal by visiting https://farmercompensation.in .
In a notification, the department informed that farmers must use their mobile phone numbers linked to their Aadhaar numbers in order to apply for the compensation.
Along with the required details, applicants must upload either photos of their affected farmlands or a Google map image if the area is inaccessible.
After submission, applicants will be able to track the status of their application online.
Once the applications are verified at multiple levels, including the offices of SDO, DC, and the agriculture department, eligible farmers will receive compensation based on their affected areas through Direct Benefit Transfer.
The compensation will be disbursed once funds are approved by the ministry of home affairs.
The last date for submission of applications is October 15, 2024, and late submissions will not be considered.
The required documents for applying include copies of Aadhaar card, bank passbook, and land documents such as a patta or a DC-issued land certificate.
For assistance or queries, farmers are advised to contact their respective SDOs, DCs, or District Agriculture Officers.
