Imphal, August 28 2024:
Science and Technology secretary Hungyo Worshang observed that students from the hill areas are not well versed in the sector of science and technology when compared to students from the plains.
Speaking at the inaugural programme of a three-day science motivational programme organised by Manipur Science and Technology Council (MASTEC) for talented students on Wednesday as the chief guest, Hungyo Worshang noted that students from the valley are comparatively advanced in the field of science and technology than their counterparts from the hills of the state.
Moreover, number of students from hilly areas visiting the valley and those from the plains heading to the hills for science exploration has declined sharply since outbreak of the conflict on May 3 last year, he said.
The inaugural programme was also attended by DM University former vice chancellor Prof N Rajmuhon and MASTEC director Dr L Minaketan as presidium members.
The science motivational programme is being participated by 30 students from 10 schools.
