BJP accused of scheming to divide people, communities

CPI-M state secretary Ksh Shanta has called upon the people to collectively work for exposing alleged attempts by the BJP government in the state and at the Centre to create divisions among people and communities of the state.
The secretary levelled the allegations at the 20th conference of CPI-M Imphal City held at Sagolband Salam Leikai also attended by veteran communist leaders Saikhom Jugol and Dr RK Sanajaoba among others.
Addressing the conference, Shanta said the present BJP governments in the state and at the Centre have been making continuous efforts to divide people and communities on ethnic and district lines instead of uniting the diverse communities.
To save Manipur and realise goal of the people amidst such a challenging situation, CPI M will share its views and galvanise manpower to unite the people and strengthen the spirit of unity, he said.
CPI-M state secretariat member Sarat Salam also addressed the delegates, stating that political situation in Manipur has worsened while stressing that the anti-people character of the present government must be made known to the people in every village and locality.
During the conference, CPI-M Imphal City Committee secretary Kshetrimayum Sopen presented report of the committee with the same passed after 11 delegates discussed the same thoroughly.
The conference later passed a charter of demands including conduct of IMC election at the earliest, improvement of roads in Imphal city, 50 percent subsidy in air fare and formation of urban employment generation scheme.
