Imphal, July 26 2024:
Observing that the collective aspiration for a progressive society is unlikely to materialise in case the indigenous communities continue to engage and indulge in intense debates on unimportant and unproductive issues, Indigenous People Forum Manipur president Ashang Kasar expressed that crisis in the state can only be resolved when the public are well versed with the core issues and get responsive.
As chief guest during launch function of "Hao Entertainment Youtube Channel" as well as music video album entitled "Eikhoi/Ithum" based on 'Love, peace and Prosperity' at Manipur Press Club, here, on Friday, Ashang Kasar expressed optimism that the music album in Meeteilon and Tangkhul language would foster peace and prosperity in the state, while emphasising that development and prosperity are unattainable if differences in opinions and beliefs divide us.
He also underscored that peace and unity can only prevail when the people shoulder collective responsibility in building the society and the state, and when the people become more aware and proactive.
Such characters, he said, is most essential for resolving the state's crisis.
Ashang further said that peace in Manipur cannot be restored solely by blaming the government but real triumph will materialise only when everybody discharge the responsibility judiciously.
It is crucial for every individual from all communities to come together if we are to foster development in the state.
We must move beyond individualistic thinking and embrace unity as a collective force.
The time has come for the indigenous people of the state to unite, he maintained.
Presided over by Film Forum Manipur chairman L Surjakanta Sharma, the function was also attended by Ecological Rehabilitated' Association president Michael Shaiza as special guest.
