Huge cache of arms, ammunition recovered

Imphal, August 23 2024:
Combined teams of state and central forces recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition from different parts of the state during search operations, on Friday.
According to police report, Kakching district police commando, Wangoo police, 131 battalion BSF, 8 MR, 5/9 GR and 46 AR conducted search operation from 7:02 till 7:48 am along the foothills of Wangjing Khunou and recovered one NSAS Rifle along with magazine and 11 rounds, one 9mm Pistol with magazine, five 36 HE Grenades with 2 rings, 10 rounds of INSAS Rifle, two rounds of 9 mm, one Helmet 1, one Detonator (.36 Grenade), one BP Vest and 15 cases, all handed over to Wangoo police station for further action.
From 4:30 am to 6:40 am, Imphal West district police along with B-04 BSF and F-152 CRPF conducted search operation in Sekmai Parao, Lailat and Thanga Leikai areas under Sekmai police station.
During the operation, bombs and other weapons including one country made Pistol with magazine, two hand grenades, and a country-made Rifle with magazine were recovered.
The recovered items have been handed over to Sekmai police station.
A team of Bishnupur district commando led by DSP (CDO-1) P Sanjoy Singh and assisted by ASI H Robash Singh and Havildar RK Manjit Singh along with a column of 33 AR led by Major Nikhil Bishnoi, 8 Bn CRPF, Bishnupur police team led by Inspector A Amitabh Singh OC and Women personnel conducted search operations at Wainem, Keinou Maning, Ayokpa villages and recovered one long-range improvised mortar (Pompi) with bipod, an AK assault rifle, one .303 bolt-action rifle, one 12-bore single-barrel gun, one 9 mm pistol with magazine, and one .32 pistol with magazine.
Additionally, theyfound 11 36 HE hand grenades, eight detonators, one INSAS LMG magazine, one 7.62 mm LMG magazine, one tube launcher, one WP smoke bomb, one wireless telecommunication set, two helmets, eight tear gas shells, five tear smoke bombs, 10 SLR rounds, 17 AK rounds, ten .303 rounds, six INSAS rounds, one .38 round, two 9 mnj rounds, two improvised mortar shells, one haver sack, two carbine rounds, and two pairs of camouflage uniforms.
The recovered items have been handed over to Bishnupur Police Station for further action.
