Santikumar awarded capital punishment: PREPAK-Pro

The proscribed People Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak-Progressive (PREPAK-Pro) claimed to have awarded capital punishment to Saikhom Santikumar alias Tinsuba Singh, 23, s/o S Sanayaima Singh and Pramo Devi of Heirok Part 2 bazar.
Giving reasons for awarding the punishment, a PREPAK-Pro statement said Saikhom Santikumar was posted in a section of party's Base Area 1 .
On June 22, 2024, Santikumar entered the room of a married woman living adjacent to the sector and tried to touch her.
However, as the young woman shouted for help, locals were alerted and his intention realised.
However, Santikumar fled from sector along with the weapon issued to him at about 3.30 am the following day.
A team was sent to search for Santikumar but the team suffered casualties.
After two days, villagers informed about Santikumar's exact hideout following which a team of PREPAK cadres nabbed him after surrounding the hideout.
Santikumar was deemed fit for severe punishment but was given only light punishment by detaining him for some time on humanitarian ground.
Santikumar was treated properly till the end of his detention/punishment period.
However, Santikumar once again ran away from the sector with mobile phone, cash and weapon of a party cadre, the statement continued.
Later, on November 9, 2924, party came to know that Santikumar was at his home and accordingly nabbed him on the same day.
After intense questioning and detailed discussion among party leaders, Santikumar was given capital punishment in an area under NCTF, clarified the PREPAK-Pro statement issued by assistant publicity secretary L Ningshingba.
