Imphal, June 22 2024:
Yelhoumi Yaipha Chaokhat Lup, Manipur and its fraternal organistions in Assam, namely, Unity Meitei Association Assam, All Assam Manipuri (Meitei) Artists' Association, Hojai Lanka and United Manipuri Association, Assam have appealed the Government of India to end the ongoing war waged by the Kukis against the Meetei community.
According to a statement of Yelhoumi Yaipha Chaokhat Lup, India being the emerging super power of the world can end the ongoing war within 10 days.
However, India seems to be protecting the Kuki Narco-Terrorists coming from outside and there are enough evidences confirming India's siding with the Kukis in the present crisis.
Indian Army and Assam Rifles evacuated Meeteis from Churachandpur, Moreh, Kangpokpi and other fringe areas and allowed the Kukis to independently torch and destroy the abandoned Meetei houses.
Instead of protecting the Meetei houses, Indian Army and Assam Rifles personnel remained spectators to illegal acts of the Kukis, the Lup said, adding that similar incidents happened recently in Jiribam wherein Meeteis were evacuated from their villages and allowed Kukis to freey torch the abandoned houses.
While stating that separate administration demand raised by the Kukis is illogical and unfounded, the Lup asked India if they could grant such demands raised by 35 different communities inhabiting in Manipur.
The Lup then urged the BJP government to invite leaders of both the warring communities for talks for resolving the crisis at the earliest.
